Sean Kerry, Ph.D., C. Psych. Sean Kerry obtained his Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Alberta, with a specialization in Counselling and Educational Psychology. His Masters’ Degree in Counselling Psychology was completed at McGill University and he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of British Columbia. Dr. Kerry is registered to practice in Clinical and Counselling Psychology with the College of Ontario Psychologists, and is a member in good standing with the Ontario Psychological Association. Sean's previous work experience includes individual, couples and family counseling. He previously worked for three years as a researcher within the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the BC Children's Hospital. Prior to his Masters degree, he worked as a vocational counselor with clients displaced from their employment due to injury or disability. He has also worked in community-based mental health clinics in Edmonton and Stony Plain, Alberta, and completed a doctoral internship at the University of Alberta's Faculty of Education Clinic. |
Q Sean provides psychological, vocational, and psycho-educational assessments for children, youth, and adults. Each assessment is specifically designed to assist referring individuals or agencies address their concerns. Psycho-educational assessments examine intellectual ability and academic fluency, attention and concentration, hand-eye coordination, planning ability, and recognize the response style of the individual being tested. Vocational assessments completed by Dr. Kerry examine ability and aptitude, but also explore vocational interests, values, and personality style. Sean works with adults, adolescents, and couples, and uses cognitive behavioural, solution-focused, and Ericksonian approaches to therapy. Sean works with issues such as depression, anxiety, anger management, parenting support, vocational counseling, and working with adults who have experienced assault or abuse. |
