These services are available to all members of the immediate family.

Fee Coverage

Often clients are not aware of their coverage and we will assist clients to access this information. In order to ensure that you receive the coverage for which you are entitled, we will request that you obtain the following information from your employer or benefit plan

Does your employer provide an Employee Assistance Program (EAP)?

A number of organizations today provide short-term Employee Assistance Programs ranging between six to twelve sessions. Your employer will be able to assist you with information on how to contact your Employee Assistance Program.

For EAPs which contract with Quinte Counselling Services Inc. to provide services, you will be contacted within 24 hours of your contact with your program. Quinte Counselling Services Inc. will then contact you and set up an initial appointment with an experienced therapist or a registered psychologist. In a crisis situation, an appointment will be set up within 12 to 24 hours.

What is covered by your Extended Health Care Plan?

When a client makes contact with Quinte Counselling Services Inc. or Quinte Assessment and Treatment Group Inc., they are asked whether they have an Extended Health Care Plan. Extended Health Care Plans will generally cover services provided by a registered psychotherapist or social worker, although some plans will only cover services directly provided by a registered psychologist.

Clients will be asked to contact the personnel department of their organization or their benefit plan directly, in order to obtain the following information:

  • Does the plan require a referral from the family doctor?
  • What percentage of the fee does the plan cover?
  • Does the plan cover services provided by a registered psychologist or social worker, or only services provided directly by a registered psychologist?
  • How many sessions are covered by the plan?
  • Does the benefit plan allow for direct billing or is the client required to pay for the cost of services and then submit receipts to the benefit plan for reimbursement

We will assist you to obtain the above information, when necessary.

This will ensure that you receive the full financial benefits you are entitled to when dealing with difficult emotional, personal, or family issues.
