Linda Leonard obtained her Master’s degree with a counselling focus from Tyndale University and her Doctorate from Eastern University in Pennsylvania in Marriage and Family. Linda’s background and experience includes assessing and treating individuals, couples and families.

Linda is a Registered Psychotherapist with the Ontario College of Registered Psychotherapists and a Clinical Fellow with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, the Ontario Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and Registry of Marriage and Family, Canada. Linda’s certifications include Myers Brigg Type Indicator, Prepare Enrich and FIROB.

Linda’s work experience includes individual, relationship, marital and family counselling in a private practice and clinical context for the past sixteen years as well as giving seminars in marriage and family, parenting, self-esteem, communication, conflict resolution and Myers Briggs Type Indicator. Linda’s experience has included such issues as addictions, sexual abuse, spiritual conflict, depression, eating disorders, communication skills, conflict resolution, intimacy issues, self-esteem issues, grief and loss, divorce, anger management, boundary issues, and transitional life changes.

Therapeutic interventions include various counselling approaches, modalities and techniques as required for each counselling situation. Areas of clinical practice and therapeutic modalities may include: Family Systems Theory and Genograms, Transgenerational Family Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Brief Therapy, Cognitive Therapy, Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychoeducational Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Domestic Violence and Safety Plans, Personality Testing (MBTI), Human Development and Life Span Transitions, Human Development and Sexuality and Crisis Intervention.
