Jennifer Fader, MA Jennifer has worked clinically with individuals, couples, and families struggling with mental illness such as depression, anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and personality disorders among many other illnesses. She has clinical experience with individuals who experience life transitions; individuals who are dealing with addiction issues or experiencing loss and grief reaction. She has worked with couples providing short-term couples counseling and stabilization. She has worked with trauma victims as well as victims of physical, mental, and emotional abuse. Jennifer’s treatment modalities include solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy as well as supportive counselling. Jennifer has been working with individuals and families for more than 6 years and is a member of the (OACCPP) Ontario Association of Counsellors, Consultants, Psychometrists, and Psychotherapists. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Queens University and her Graduate degree from Athabasca University while simultaneously completing her Social Service Work diploma from Loyalist College. |
Q Jennifer has developed and instructed child development classes, has facilitated mental health and wellness recovery workshops, and suicide intervention workshop. She is a trained instructor in ASIST and is a certified Mental Health Recovery Practitioner certified by the Copeland Centre. She has worked in an array of settings including the Emergency Room and the hospital conducting clinical counselling and crisis intervention. Jennifer has also enjoyed working for non-profit agencies. Jennifer thoroughly enjoys the benefits of assisting individuals in need while being able to conduct clinical counselling and risk assessments. Her knowledge of community resources allows her to assist her clients to the best of her ability and provide referrals to community agencies as needed. She enjoys working with individuals and families while employing individualized sessions based on the need of the client. Of particular interest to Jennifer is assisting youth and young adults who experience difficulty with life transitions and peer conflict. She welcomes those experiencing eating issues relating to body image. |
