Cathy is a Registered Human Resources Practitioner and holds a certificate in Human Resources Management.

Cathy has 20 years experience in the human resources field and has specific expertise in the non-profit, unionized healthcare sector. She recently retired from a position as Senior Manager Employee and Labour Relations. Cathy has served as a one person human resources department, a member of a local human resources team and a senior manager in a larger human resources team serving a broad and diverse geographical area.

Cathy brings to her clients a breadth of experience. She is able to provide the practical experience and knowledge of the human resources generalist working in a small organization to ensure all the normal functions associated with human resources are properly managed. She is also able to bring to her clients the critical labour relations skills required to manage the complicated issues associated with larger and more complex organizations . She has unique experience in managing amalgamation of several unionized employers into one new larger unionized entity.

Cathy’s particular focus is labour relations including policies and procedures, attendance management, health & safety, payroll, collaborative union/management relationships, grievance management, collective bargaining preparation, complaints resolution and adherence to applicable legislation.

She is particularly interested in assisting employers to establish productive relationships with their staff and/or unions.
